***  Please select a Flute Key below:

Key of A Key of B Key of C Key of D Key of E Key of F Key of G High Notes Low Notes

A, B and G flutes are about the right size for most people.  The finger holes are at placements that most hands can reach very comfortably - not too close together or too far apart.

The hole placement on E, F & G flutes begin to move further apart, but are still fine for most people.  If a person has trouble spreading their fingers or has small fingers, these flutes may be a bit of a reach.

C & D flutes definitely have a spread to the hole placement.  These flutes are best for someone with a long finger reach.

With high note flutes the holes move closer together.    High C & high D will be fine for the average person.   High E and above may have holes too close together for larger fingers.

As to how high or low a note to select - this is a matter of personal preference or use.  It seems most prefer the range from about A , down to about E.   (E, F, G, A)
